The Home Inspection:

The first thing the inspector will do upon meeting with you is to discuss your concerns about the property. How will you use the home? Do you anticipate changes? What problems do you worry about? The inspector will structure the inspection to specifically meet your needs.

In addition to your special concerns, the walk-through inspection will address all the elements vital to the integrity of the house, safety of its inhabitants, and long-term maintenance. This inspection will cover all major elements of the house including the structure, electrical system, plumbing, roof, heating and much more.

A Sound Home Inspection is an interactive process, fully exploring the challenges and solutions present in every property. During the walk-through portion of the inspection, the Sound Home inspector will give a verbal description of his findings, meanwhile, you are encouraged to make comments, ask questions and test ideas.

The inspection concludes with a discussion of the findings and a written formatted report, including a rating of the home in comparison with others of its type and age. Estimates of preliminary repair costs are also included in this report. The inspection report is supplemented by copies of some of our newspaper articles and SOUND NOTES , containing detailed information about home construction and maintenance. This information is also available through the Sound Home Resource Center. Our customers find this information invaluable to both their short- and long-term home maintenance and improvement plans.
