Dear George: We are remodeling a basement bathroom with pine tongue and groove walls and ceiling, new toilet, tongue and groove cabinet with new basin and want to do a cedar sided shower on a shower base where the existing shower enclosure is. Do you know anything about cedar showers-do they take the water OK?
I am afraid that I have never seen any kind of a wood shower enclosure which lasted for more than a few showers (and I have seen many cedar and other wood sided showers stalls). When it comes to showers, I would urge you to use some of the tested known systems. The least expensive would be a factory made fiberglass unit. Good quality: tile, Corean, stone, plastic laminate etc. systems will also work.
